Shawn Masarath is the Head of Operational Excellence at BASF, where he leads consulting and implementation initiatives that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and performance across BASF’s North American operations. Over his nearly two decades with BASF, he has held several key leadership roles, including Director of Operational Excellence Consulting, Site Manager for North Geismar, and Production Manager for major plant start-ups in Freeport and Geismar. His earlier experience as a Process Engineer at BASF and LyondellBasell provided him with a strong technical foundation that continues to inform his strategic leadership in operations and continuous improvement. Shawn’s expertise spans process optimization, lean manufacturing, and large-scale plant commissioning, with a proven track record of driving measurable results. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the University of Houston.
